Weekend Festivals in Lake County {July 17-18-19}

Friday July 17

  • All Day Alpine Fest, Lion Fred Blau Park, Lake Zurich.
    The fest features carnival rides, games, food, family events and entertainment.
  • 10:00 a.m. Waukegan Housing Authority 6th Annual Block Party, Waukegan Housing Authority
    Bring the family for a day of free fun including food, games, entertainment, and raffles! Public invited and welcome.
  • 11:00 a.m. Out to Lunch, Cook Park, Libertyville
    Enjoy live bands and chose a delicious lunch from among 9 food vendors in Cook Park.
  • 12:00 p.m. Courtyard Concert, Waukegan Public Library. Listeners can bring their own lunch or purchase lunch available for sale onsite from Green Town Tavern. Drinks and baked goods are also available for purchase by the Friends of the Waukegan Public Library
  • 12:00 p.m. Antioch Taste of Summer, Downtown Antioch
    Four Days of fun in downtown Antioch are a must for summer pleasure. Carnival rides and games add up to fun for the whole family. Enjoy the delectable specialties prepared by top restaurants.  Then stroll through the town for the best sidewalk sales and crafters in the area.
  • 1:00 p.m. Free Family Summer Entertainment Series, Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center
    Smarty Pants Balloon Show. This show is a completely unique stage production featuring magic, comedy and Smarty’s award-winning, eye popping balloon props. Bring your family and friends, blanket, chair and a picnic for an afternoon of fun! If the weather is too rainy or hot, we will move the event indoors
  • 2:00 p.m. Great Lakes Naval Museum Summer Concert Series, Great Lakes Naval Museum
    Please join the Great Lakes Naval Museum and Navy Band Great Lakes as we present the second show of our 2015 Summer Concert Series. The Woodwind Quartet “Fair Winds” will be performing on the Museum’s front porch as they play a variety of summertime favorites.
  • 4:30 p.m. Highland Fest, Highland Park
    Art & Music in the Village. Community picnic, food, music and activities for the whole family.
  • 5:00 p.m. Cruise Nights & Concerts in the Park, Community Park, Hawthorn Woods
    Cruise on over to Hawthorn Woods Community Park and enjoy a night of cool cars and family fun. Enjoy a sweet summer night with good friends and great music. Food vendors are on-site for every concert.
  • 5:30 p.m. 150th Birthday Party, Citizens Park, Barrington
    A birthday party for Barrington! Food available for purchase, bands, magician, face painting, bubble show, inflatables and more!
  • 6:00 p.m. Vernon Hills Summer Celebration, Century Park, Vernon Hills
    Please join us for excellent food, carnival rides, entertainment.

Saturday July 18

    Please join us for excellent food, carnival rides, entertainment.
  • 10:00 a.m. Art in the Park, Village Green, Northbrook
    Art in the Park a fine arts festival will return to the Village Green Park, the corner of Shermer and Meadow, downtown Northbrook. Not only will you be able to enjoy the high-quality artwork of over 70 artists from across the country, the festival also includes live music, children’s activities, a young artists’ exhibit and a food and beverage area.
  • 10:00 a.m. Aspen’s Five! Cook Memorial Public Library District Aspen Drive Library, Vernon Hills
    Drop in at an open house and write a note on the community message board, take a book-shelfie in your favorite library spot, go on a behind-the-scenes tour including compact shelving and the automated sorter, hop on the Bookmobile, have your face painted, grab a balloon, and have a piece of cake, too.
  • 11:00 a.m. Jammin’ at Jens Jensen Park, Jens Jensen Park, Highland Park. The public is invited to enjoy free live music this summer at the inaugural season o f Jammin’ in Jens Jensen Park. These historic grounds are the perfect setting for families to come enjoy time together in the great outdoors.
  • 12:00 p.m. Antioch Taste of Summer, Downtown Antioch

  • 5:00 p.m. ArtWauk, Waukegan Arts District
    ArtWauk is a monthly celebration of arts in the Arts & Entertainment District in Waukegan. Each month this event showcases different art and artists at over 20 venues, offering free access to each site and a chance to meet the artists. Join the throngs exposed to art, music, performances, theatres, shops, and restaurants!

Sunday July 19

    Drop by the Malott Japanese Garden for hands-on activities related to Japanese arts and culture. Practice using chopsticks, rake miniature dry gardens, make Japanese kites, and more. Free admission, regular parking rates apply.
  • 12:00 p.m. Antioch Taste of Summer, Downtown Antioch

  • 3:00 p.m. Gospelfest, Greenbelt Cultural Center, North Chicga0
    Be inspired by Lake County’s best gospel voices. This annual favorite features choirs, solo performances and praise dancers that will bring you to your feet.
  • 4:00 p.m. Summer Concert Series and Fun in the Park, Rue Park, Wildwood
    A night full of fun that will feature a children’s musician, Jodi Koplin and the rock n roll band the Rockin’ Fenderskirts.  We will have kids games, face painting, and a bounce house available to all children for free. Concessions will be available with drinks, and snacks for purchase.
  • 5:00 p.m. Summer Concert Series, Kracklauer Park, Mundelein. Come and enjoy family-friendly concerts held Sundays throughout the summer, courtesy of Mundelein Park District, the Mundelein Community Days Commission and the Village of Mundelein. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.
  • 5:00 p.m. Summer Sampler, Mitchell Park, Deerfield. Summer Samplers take place each Sunday night during the summer at Mitchell Park from 5 – 6:30 pm. Free to attend!
  • 6:00 p.m. Bluffina Summer Concert Series, Lake Bluff Village Green. Summer Concert Series at village Green in Downtown Lake Bluff.
