Cacao Sweets & Treats, Grayslake (847) 223-2253
This darling bakery offering natural and organic sweets is a welcome addition to downtown Grayslake and my own personal downfall. Yeah, they know my face there. The deliciousness is dished out in a shabby chic setting that makes the perfect backdrop for a special occasion.
serve their private room for a Birthday Cupcake Decorating Class. Each child receives 2 cupcakes (one to eat and one to take home) and are allowed to let their creativity flow in the form of frosting and other decorative edibles. Classes usually last an hour but additional time may be booked. Recently, they have added a Cupcake Baking class as well. For daily cupcake flavors and eye candy, like Cacao Sweets & Treats on Facebook.
Cacao is closed permanently as of May 2018.

Uniquely Sweet, Grayslake (847) 548-0001
Handcrafted chocolate specialties make their way out of this local confectionery. You can place custom orders or assemble gift baskets on-site as well as find their yummies at Somethings Brewing. My family makes this a regular pitstop for last-minute hostess gifts. Their toffee has even made it into the swag bags of the Emmy Awards!
Host a Chocolatier Party and let them handle the mess. Kids will make Chocolate Pizzas, S’mores, and other chocolate-dipped creations as well as enjoy a meal of the non-chocolate variety. Guests play candy bingo for sweet prizes and get to leave with their creations, a balloon, and a sucker. If you’re ready for the sugar rush, get more information here or visit Uniquely Sweet on Facebook.
