Ross Dress for Less®: Now Open in Downtown Chicago

Before I had kids veteran moms would warn me about how fast kids outgrow their clothes. With two boys my youngest gets a lot of hand-me-downs from his older brother if they’re not ripped, stained or essentially destroyed. What the veteran moms didn’t warn me about would be the toll my wardrobe would take. How shocking is it that I haven’t bought something none maternity in over 2 years?

I was lucky to shop at the first Ross Dress for Less® in Downtown Chicago the night before they opened. I was very impressed with their selection of women’s clothing, handbags, shoes and housewares. What’s surprising was the amount of name brand clothing there was all over the store.

Ross Dress for Less® is the nation’s largest off-price apparel and home fashion chain. Shoppers will find over 30,000 square feet of brand name apparel, shoes, accessories, gifts and home decor at 20 to 60 percent off department store prices.

I was very impressed with the selection for everyone in the family. There were a couple big name brands that popped up on the rack including two designer winter jackets that I snagged for under $30 each. We are one step closer to being Chicago tundra ready in our household just point me in the direction to a good dog sledding store and we should be gold.

Can I tell you a secret? Everything in this cart was about $150 including new queen bedsheets, two toddler winter jackets, a dress, two dress up shirts, and a flannel shirt for my obsessed with wearing flannel shirt husband.  Good to know that we won’t break the bank adding more shirts to his collection.

But look here: my vice. I have an obsession with bags. My problem is that I can’t find the right one. There are many requirements for the right purse. Ross Dress for Less has bags in every shape, size and color, they make it hard for one person to not find the one they are looking for.

This one was so cute. It had so many pockets, lots of space, great color, great size but  it didn’t have a cross body strap that I was looking for. I’m hopeful that my next Ross shopping trip that I will find the “perfect” one.

  1. I love finding a good deal, especially because the kids have a better wardrobe than me…it has to be a deal in order for me to consider it for myself.
