The Village of Winthrop Harbor will host its annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27, 2019 in honor of the fallen men and women of our United States military. This annual event is organized together with the Winthrop Harbor Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post.
We invite you to participate in this year’s parade with your float, band, marching group or other entry. The general theme of all parade entries should be to honor those who have paid the ultimate price to ensure our freedom. There is no-charge to participate in the parade.
The parade line-up will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Sheridan Rd. and 3rd St. in Winthrop Harbor. The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m., proceeding south on Sheridan Road to 9th Street, then west on 9th Street to Village Park. At the park there will be a Memorial service presented by the Winthrop Harbor VFW at 12:00 Noon.
Pre-registration is required for all participating groups. Registration is quick and easy online, click here to register now. Alternatively you may register by mail, FAX or in-person using this paper form. The registration deadline is midnight on Friday, May 17, 2019. All registrants will receive an email with their parade line-up number prior to the parade. We look forward to this day being a successful remembrance of all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in serving our Country. Whether you participate in the parade or join your friends and neighbors street-side to watch, we look forward to seeing you on Memorial Day.
