National Night Out (NNO) is planned in conjunction with the “Public Safety Cruise Night” car show on Thursday, August 7th from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cook and Station Streets in downtown Barrington. This special event will focus on safety, preventing crime, generating support for and participation in local anticrime programs, and strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Children can ride on a trackless train, be fitted for a free bike helmet by the nurses from Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, receive information about Drug Awareness, and watch a special K-9 Performance, always a highlight of the evening.
There will be plenty of entertaining at the event, too. Bob the DJ will provide great music throughout the evening. Police officers will provide a cookout with free hotdogs and hamburgers, chips, and drinks. Visit Police Chief Dorn and Fire Chief Arie while they cook for you! There will also be drawings for fun prizes, lots of games, a face painter, a balloon animal artist, and ice cream available for purchase.
