Calling all kids and families!!! Join us for a fun fall volunteer project with Lake Forest Open Lands. We’re excited to roll up our sleeves to help enhance sections of the ravine and beach front property at McCormick Ravine Woods Nature Preserve located on Sheridan Road in Lake Forest, IL. The cleanup efforts will be organized and managed by Lake Forest Open Lands’ land restoration manager and Whole Foods Market Deerfield. The volunteer activities taking place at McCormick Ravine will include trash removal, trail improvements, non-native species removal, bluff restoration and native species plantings. Approximately 75% of the work is removal of trash. Please wear sturdy shoes. Lake Forest Open Lands will supply work gloves and any tools needed during the work day. We will meet in the parking lot and hike down to the beach as a group. Snacks will be supplied by Whole Foods Market Deerfield. For more information about restoration work days please contact Michael Hahn, Volunteer Coordinator,at mhahn@lfola.org.
