The holiday season is back, and what better way to kick it off than attending a festive tree lighting ceremony. In the event of inclement weather, please make sure to check with local municipalities to ensure the program will be on.
Saturday November 22
Celebrate the kick-off to the holidays at Highland Park’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony from 3-5:30pm at Port Clinton Square. Over 200 trees in the Downtown Highland Park will be magically lit for the 2014 holiday season.There will be plenty of family friendly activities throughout Downtown Highland Park including the Holiday Scavenger Hunt from 3:00 – 4:30p.m., where participants stroll through town searching for answers to fun questions about specific businesses and landmarks. Each participant will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win great prizes. The official tree lighting will occur at 5 p.m.
Friday November 28
Santa arrives in Antioch in the Village Christmas Parade at 5:30pm! Santa will enjoy almost a month of providing free visits with Children at his Enchanted Village, which opens after the tree lighting ceremony on the 28th and will be open daily until December 23.
Downtown Tree Lighting Festival. Sleigh Rides. Visit with Santa at The Oasis. Refreshments! Get a jump start on your holiday shopping! Santa arrives at the Holiday Tree at the corner of Center and Whitney Street at 5:30 p.m. Sleigh rides take place between 6 – 8 p.m.

Round Lake Beach
Santa will arrive in front of the Round Lake Beach Village Hall at approximately 6:15 p.m. on a Fire Truck! Tree Lighting at 6:30 p.m. Watch your children’s eyes as Santa counts down to the lighting of the 50 foot Christmas Tree in front of the Round Lake Beach Village Hall. Your children can visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus next to the fireplace and the beautiful Christmas tree.
Saturday November 29
5:30-8 p.m. Please join the Village of Lake Villa for their annual Holiday Lighted Parade and the lighting of the Christmas tree immediately afterwards. The parade route starts at Palombi School on McKinley Ave, winds through the neighbor, down Cedar Ave and finishes at the train station. Santa will be on hand to greet the kids too!
Help us ring in the holidays with the lighting of the Villages Christmas Tree in front of the Barn in Paulus Park from 4-8:30 pm. Special visit by Santa. Snacks and hot cocoa provided.
The 2014 Vernon Hills Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony will be held at the Vernon Hills Golf Course located at 291 Evergreen Drive on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 4:30 p.m.
Friday December 5th
6-8 p.m. The tree will be set aglow while we listen to the Stevenson High School Caroling Choir followed by the arrival of Santa Claus on our fire truck. Stay warm inside the Barn with hot cocoa and cookies while making an ornament for your family tree. Children can visit with Santa, so don’t forget your camera. Bring a Toy for a Child in Need! Bring a new, unwrapped toy for a boy or a girl of any age for distribution to children in need of holiday cheer.
Annual holiday tree lighting from 6-8pm at Island Lake Village Hall.
Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony (for all ages) 6-8 p.m. Enjoy this long-standing community celebration. Join family, friends and neighbors and celebrate the season with the lighting of Mundelein’s holiday tree. Free refreshments, a visit from Santa, and more. Sponsored by Mundelein Park District and the Village of Mundelein. Start and ending times are approximate.
Saturday December 6th
Barrington Aglow: Free carriage rides from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with cookies and hot cocoa from Heinen’s Fine Foods while you wait. The Madrigal Singers will be strolling on Cook Street, and Santa arrives on the Barrington Fire Engine at 5:00 p.m. to light the holiday tree! After his arrival, Santa will visit with children in his red Santa House on South Cook Street. Remember to bring a camera to capture those memorable moments with Santa.
Holiday Light Parade kicks off at 4:30, followed by tree lighting ceremony at approximately 5:30pm.
Join the Wauconda Park District and get into the holiday spirit at the annual Tree Lighting event from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.. Santa will arrive on a fire truck to greet the boys and girls of Wauconda. Then come inside after the tree is glowing and enjoy a winter wonderland of crafts, games, and stories. Bring your camera to take a picture with Santa. Goody bags available while supplies last and light refreshments will be served.
