The start of winter doesn’t mean the end to active play.  With climbers, slides, mats, balls, and even kiddie cars, open gyms are the ultimate active outing on chilly winter days for your tots.   There are so many opportunities here in Lake County to enjoy open gyms — so many in fact you could go to a different tot open gym in Lake County each day of the week!

Parent/Tot Gym
Sullivan Community Center Gym, Vernon Hills
8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., Mondays and Thursdays.
$3 (resident), $4 (non-resident); 10-punch pass available for $25 (resident) /$35 (non-resident).
For children ages 1-4, with a parent. Let your kids burn off that extra energy this winter at the Sullivan Community Center. You and your child will enjoy a variety of toys including balls, big wheels, scooters, hula hoops, push toys, and small basketball hoops. Parents must supervise their children.

Toddler Open Gym
Hunt Club Community Center, Gurnee
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m, Mondays through March 29
$4 (resident), $5 (non-resident) daily or $35 (resident), $44 (non-resident) for 10-visits.
Bring your tot to play with scooters, tunnels, slides, mini-trampoline, bean bags and balls. This is a great, non-structured environment for both you and your child (or grandchild) to gather and socialize. Parent must remain with child(ren) and supervise their play. Pay on a drop-in basis or purchase a Toddler Open Gym Pass.

Preschool Open Gym 
Wauconda Community Center, Wauconda
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, September through May
FREE, for children who walk, through age five, with a parent.
Come for open play at the community center gym. During the unstructured play, children can socialize through group and parallel play. This is a drop-in program, no advance registration is necessary. Parent or guardian must stay with their children at all times in the gym. No supervision is provided.

For children who can walk, through age six. The gym is open for your enjoyment! This is an unstructured, parent-supervised program. The park district will supply everything you need to have fun with your child. There is no commitment, fees are collected daily at the registration desk.

Imagination Playground Open Gym
Leisure Center Gym, Zion
9:30 a.m. –  11:30 a.m., first and third Tuesdays of the Month.
$2 for children (accompanying adults, free)
Join us every first and third Tuesday of each month for Imagination Playground. A trained staff member will be on site to facilitate creative play throughout the open play hours of the Imagination Playground

$3 for the first child, $1 for additional siblings, caregivers are FREE.
This program is for you if you need to get out of the house, meet other parents, and let your children burn off some excess energy! Equipment such as balls, mats, toys, and more will be available for your child to play with while you chat with other parents or join in on the fun! Parents you can sit and chat at the tables of the Active Adults Room while your children play, just steps away in our Dance Room.

Come to open gym on Fridays for non-stop fun for all ages. Enjoy time on the in-ground trampolines, pits, tumble tracks, and their three inflatable bounce houses.  Open gym is for kids of all ages and abilities.

Open Play at the Gymnastics Zone
The Gymnastics Zone, Antioch
9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Fridays until May 25
$5 per child (members), $7 per child (non-member).
Enjoy one hour of “parent guided” open gym.  This is a fun time to meet friends and practice skills learned during class.  Parent participation is required.
