My favorite memories of back to school are of shopping for supplies. Picking out the perfect folders, notebooks, and pencils. Choosing the Trapper Keeper and backpack that would express my personality and still look cool. For families that are struggling this simple act is difficult at best. For children from low-income families getting to school and learning is already a struggle, when you add in not having the correct supplies and their chances for success plummet.
You can easily help those in your communities by picking up extra supplies when you are out shopping the school sales for your own family. In addition to sending extra supplies to your own school and teachers we have gathered up a list of community sites and groups that are collecting and distributing school supplies this year.
