Calling all expectant parents! If you are a first time mom-to-be or new to the Lake County area this is the event for you! We invite you and your partners to join Little Lake County at the Vernon Area Public Library for the first ever FREE Bump to Baby Expo!
Held from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 21, this event will give parents the opportunity to find out what’s new and tried-and-true in pregnancy, birth and parenting. In addition, expectant parents will get to meet local organizations (like Little Lake County!), day care centers and networking groups. The Expo will connect new and future parents with 24 area organizations and vendors to show off their services and opportunities for families
The day will include brief yoga sessions held every hour in the library cafe as well as 10-minute spark talks about topics and activities such as breastfeeding, infant sleep, cloth diapering, financial tips, choking and exploring Lake county with kids. That last one is all us! We know a thing or two about having fun in Lake County and our creator and publisher Melissa Haak (that’s me!) will be presenting “Adventure Tuesday.” I now know that Lake County is full of entertainment, fun and undiscovered treasures. But I didn’t always know where to go, which is how Little Lake County was born. In my spark talk, I will teach you how I get out to explore with my kids without spending a fortune and how we have fun all summer long with just a little planning.
Every Bump to Baby Expo visitor will be eligible to enter raffles to win pries that include doula services, gift certificates, baby gear and a free family photo shoot.
Librarian Kelsey Cole-Burns, one of the event coordinators, anticipates that anyone who steps through the library doors to attend Bump to Baby Expo will not only find an array of local businesses, but “a home away from home where parents can take their babies to learn, play and meet others in the community.”
