As the holiday draws near, I have family asking about what to get the kids for Christmas. This whole process creates a bit of anxiety as I battle between what my kids want and like, and needing to keep my house from becoming one ginormous, overstuffed toy box. While receiving a few toys is fine, I have started to get into the habit of asking for experiences for the kids, especially during the months of cabin fever and we are suffering from vitamin D deficiency.
This is where Bella’s Bouncies comes in. A family-owned and operated indoor fun center located in Lake Villa, Bella’s Bouncies has numerous bounce houses, slides, and climbing tubes that reach the ceiling for kids to wear themselves out. It’s even fun for me to either play with them or take advantage of the free wifi. Any time we have family or friends with children in town, we almost always bring them to the indoor bounce house, and our guests are in awe that a unique fun space like this exists. Our guests always comment about how they would love to see an entertainment center like this in their far away neck of the woods.
Bella’s offers punch cards for admission and this is for real my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE THING to put on the kids Christmas list (I hope my family is reading this now). Without the punch card, admission is $9 per visit per child child. Non-walking children and parents can enter for free. But nonwalkers can totally go into the bounce houses with a parent and really enjoy playing, too. Bella’s admission also includes all-you-can-eat popcorn and free Wi-Fi. Additional snacks, balloons, socks (in case you forget theirs–or yours) and beverages are available for purchase.
Bella’s is offering special hours and events in the month of December.
HOURS FOR CHRISTMAS BREAK, are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on December 19, 20, 21, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31. Bella’s Bouncies is also open from 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. on the December 26th.
On Thursday December 22nd, Bella’s Bouncies is open from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a special appearance from Santa at 5:00 p.m.! This is a perfect remedy to avoiding long lines for a picture with the Big Guy.
In addition to an indoor bounce facility, Bella’s owns Bella’s Bouncies Skate on Grand, a recently remodeled roller rink. Just like the rinks I remember from my own childhood, Skate on Grand has fun music, skates for rent at reasonable prices of $2-$4 (you can or bring your own), and pizza and pretzels for sale. Hours vary each day, so be sure to check the schedule and find out what special deals are offered.
And check out their newest feature, BUBBLE SOCCER! (I now know what I am planning for my own, adult birthday.) Put on a giant inflatable bubble and attempt to kick a ball around, or just take out your post-election frustration with your friends. Bubble Soccer is available for play at the rink or you can rent them out at a location of your choosing.
Both facilities are also perfect options for your child’s winter birthday party. Each location has party rooms available where you can bring in your own cakes and food, or Bella’s can provide options for catering. You can also choose to have a private party, or for a bit less, have it in conjunction with open bounce or skate hours. Watch the kids play while you chat with the other parents for a few hours. Then enjoy refreshments. Easy peasy.
Pro mom tip: on your way to visit the Bounce House, depending on which direction you are coming from, make a quick stop at one of the super close small business coffee shops (The Latte Cafe or Julie’s Coffee) and grab yourself a latte to enjoy as your kids run screaming for two hours without needing you to accompany them everywhere.
