Springtime brings more than just wonderfully warm weather, it also brings Easter and all of the fun activities that go along with it. There is something for everyone to enjoy during this time of the year. Here at Little Lake County we have rounded up a handy guide to Easter events in Lake County so you can be sure not to miss out on your favorite egg hunt, activity or celebration.

Registration Require; cost: $20 (Barrington residents)/$25 (nonresidents) per child
Watch your children’s eyes light up as they receive a personal visit from the Easter Bunny at your home, who will present them with their very own basket filled with goodies. Be sure to have your camera on hand to capture the moment! You will receive a phone call the week of March 22nd with the time the bunny will be at your house.

Bunnies need to eat too! This year you can share a carrot with the most famous bunny out there!We have a list of some of the best places to dine with the bunny this year.  Be sure to call ahead as most of these events require registration or a reservation.

17 March, 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. – Breakfast with the Bunny
Barrington Park District Pavillion, Barrington
$9 (resident)/$11 (nonresident)
Easter breakfast with Bunny is an annual Park District tradition that you and your child won’t want to miss. A delicious, catered breakfast is served. Immediately after the breakfast, we’ll have our annual Egg Hunt. Children registered for Breakfast with the Bunny are automatically registered for the Egg Hunt. Registration is sold per seat. (All children one year and up and all adults must be registered.)

It’s going to be an Egg-stravaganza this year at Breakfast with the Bunny. Before the annual egg hunt, hop on over to the Bunny Hutch (Paulus Park Barn) for a scrumptious meal (buffet while supplies last) and a visit from the bunny himself! There will also be photo opportunities with the bunny, so bring your camera.

Hop on over to Brookfield Zoo for the annual Breakfast with the Bunny. An all-you-can-eat buffet, held in the zoo’s Discovery Center, will feature a special appearance from costumed characters Mr. and Mrs. Bunny, who will be available for photo opportunities. In addition, there will be live musical entertainment. Seatings are offered at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Pricing includes zoo admission and parking. Seatings are limited and reservations are required.

Hop along and find eggs filled with candy and toys hidden in Rule Park! Hunt areas will be divided by age. One lucky golden egg will be hidden in each area. Find the lucky golden egg and receive a special prize! This event is rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. When you arrive, line up near your age division. Parents must limit their children to 10 eggs each at this event. Don’t forget to bring a basket!

Leash up your pup and hop on over to Rule Park for an egg hunt that is just for dogs! Owners must stay with their dog at all times. Please bring a basket or bag for collecting eggs. Each dog may collect up to 10 treat filled eggs. No pre-registration required.

Ages 8 and younger.
The Easter Bunny will be busy hiding 10,000 eggs with fun toys and candy inside. He’ll be there in person to watch your little ones, age 8 and younger, gather them up. Look for signs in the park that mark the age group areas. Lucky finders of four golden eggs will receive new bicycles! No bags or baskets allowed.

Often egg hunts can be crowded and quite busy. You can avoid the crowds by purchasing your spot at an egg hunt for a different experience this year! The following events require payment and/or registration before the event. Please check each listing before heading out.

15 March, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. – Bunnynanza H20
Foglia YMCA, Lake Zurich
$5/$10 per participant; adults are free
Enjoy an evening with the bunny, participate in activities, jump in the bounce house, stop by our tie dye station, dance to the music, tumble in the tot spot, bite into a delicious snack and of course join in the water egg hunt! Each age group will participate in their time slot, collect a certain number of eggs and turn them in to receive a prize.
Note: If your child cannot swim well, we will require an adult to be in the pool with them.

The Antioch Parks and Recreation department is sponsoring the Annual Eggcellent Easter Adventure, a two-part event that features a parade and an egg hunt. The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Antioch beginning on Main Street (Route 83) at Park Avenue, heading north to Williams Street. Immediately following the parade (approximately 11:00 a.m.) the Easter egg hunt will begin in Williams Park for children ages 1 to 10. Children participating in the egg hunt must pre-register at the Antioch Parks and Recreation Office between now and the egg hunt. The cost is $3 per child. A wristband guarantees your spot in the hunt and each child will receive 10 eggs and have a chance to win one of three special Easter baskets created for each age group.

The Easter Bunny is bringing in some help this year in spreading his eggs near and far. The Easter Bunny’s helicopter will fly into Citizens Park and drop eggs filled with special treats for all to hunt and enjoy in the open space outside of the Pavilion. Come join the excitement of the first helicopter drop! Parents are asked  to limit their children to 15 eggs at this event.

Hunt for eggs outside at Paulus Park in this game of Hide-n-Glow seek! Find golden eggs and WIN BIG! Afterwards, enjoy the party atmosphere with a DJ, pizza and beverages. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring your own flashlight and bag. Register early as space is limited.

12 March – 9 April – Peep-a-Palooza
Ela Area Public Library , Lake Zurich
Create an original Peep diorama on any theme you dream up! To help you get started, we will have packages of marshmallow Peeps available (while supplies last) at the Information and Children’s Reference desks to take home. Entries are due by Saturday, March 31. All entries will be displayed April 3 through April 9 so viewers can vote for their favorites. This program is for all ages.

31 March, 10:30 a.m. – Eggcellent Easter Adventure Parade
Williams Park, 741 Main Street, Antioch
The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Antioch beginning on Main Street (Route 83) at Park Avenue, heading north to Williams Street. Want to walk in the parade? Wear a hat from elegant to outrageous and line up at the bandshell on skidmor at 10:00 a.m.  All are welcome!

31 March, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. – Easter Bunny Cupcakes

$30 per child with one caregiver included.
